Significantly involved in initiatives to support the implementation in Romania of the concept of ‘buildings with nearly zero energy consumption’ (nZEB) – national representative of European projects such as RePublic_ZEB – Refurbishment of the Public Building Stock Towards nZEB. Internal Project Director: Innovative Research Tools for a Energy Efficient University – Energy University, 2014-2015, awarded at the Romanian Energy Awards, with the Special Award for Best Energy Initiative (2015). Dragos Oprea is partner at EXHIBIT Architecture, a studio that aims to create a critical and responsible environment for debating the current architectural phenomenon, promoting good quality projects and initiatives and combating harmful architecture and unprofessional practices. EXHIBIT Architecture was founded in 2007 and won several architectural competitions and awards at various sections of the Architectural Annuals of the Brasov-Covasna-Harghita Branch; the BAB 2010 Prize, and in 2017 they received a Mies Van Der Rohe Award nomination.

Architect, now KRONOSPAN Ambassador representing Romania, Biborka Bartha has had many collaborations with architecture and design universities in Europe such as: New Design Univesrity in Sankt Pölten (Austria) or Transilvania University of Brasov, Faculty of Wood Engineering, where she obtained her Ph.D. in 2015. She was part of the Prispa team of the Solar Decathlon competition and since 2014 is a member of the Romanian Academy’s History and Philosophy Committee. She has organized numerous workshops and architectural exhibitions.
Her artistic vision is deeply influenced by the vernacular architectural concept. Here strong belief is that respect for the built natural context, knowing the constants of places (relief, climate, spirit, community, etc.) are the necessary steps of a profound design project capable of generating a positive impact on the community, space and its user.

Şerban Ţigănăş, chairman of the Order of Architects in Romania and founder of the design office DICO & TIGNAŞ, is also a trainer of young architects, through his active presence in the public environment, and the “university hobby” he has had for 20 years at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning Cluj Napoca – UTCN.

The OOPEAA Office has been honored with numerous important awards and nominations including the Finlandia Architecture Prize in 2015 and the Archdaily – Architecture Year Award in 2016, and in 2012-2013 they were selected as finalists of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture, the Mies van der Rohe Award.
OOPEAA quickly gained a distinctive stance among young Finnish architectural practices. Lassila’s architecture expresses interest in combining sculptural shapes with traditional building materials and techniques.

Pako Radovanovic is part of the team of architects of RADO Engeneering, company for design, construction, engineering and consulting.
Design, supervision and revision of architectural objects with all technical and technological phases required to construct an object are included within the scope of its activities.
Radovanovic has won the Grand Prize for Architecture in 2016, Macedonia.

Arch. Mihai Nuță

Head of ZONA architecture office

 

Architect, graduated from the University of Architecture and Urbanism “Ion Mincu” from Bucharest and also studied in Italy (Venice) between 1991-1992. Member of the Order of Architects in Romania.
Currently teaching assistant at the Architecture Faculty in Bucharest and head of ZONA architecture office. His activity is focusing mainly on working and designing with wood. He has realized several landmark projects utilizing wood as the primary shaping element of the architectural concept.
